Copper-engraved map, hand-colored map, showing North America and Central America. Has a gorgeous colored cartouche.

This is an original, not a reproduction, and it's in excellent condition. We've framed it in an antique frame and used UV-protecting non-glare acrylic for the glazing.

Note the "Sea of the West" above New Albion. This sea is linked by an equally mythical river system to Hudson Bay, and its two entrances are shown as Juan de Fuca and Martin d'Aguilar. The Archipel St Lazare appears in a region which was previously land-locked.

A beautiful example of cartography of the era.
